You are Cordially Invited to Celebrate Our 8th Graders

We are having a celebration for those 7th graders that have completed their assigned curriculum and have been promoted to the 8th grade.  Please join us in the Innovative Center, December 14, 2017.  The celebration starts at 2:30 and will be approximately 30 minutes long. Stay and have some cake with our wonderful JAG students.

The First Nine Weeks

It is report card time and your child should be done with first and second quarters of 7th grade A+ Learning Program. Please check the progress reports sent out every Tuesday to be informed of your child's advancement in the program.  The JAG teachers are very pleased with the student's hard work and dedication this year.  Many are "right on track" and will complete the 7th grade by the end of 2017.  We will have a "graduation" ceremony" for those going to the eighth grade in December, when a date is confirmed.

Frequently Asked Questions

The district is using a new computer based curriculum for the JAG (Jump A Grade) program.  The A+ Fuel Education Anywhere Learning System (ALS) has incorporated Florida’s learning standards for grades 1–12. The program’s network of assessments links students directly to the instructional content they need, so that teachers can match curriculum and instruction to skill levels.

Why is my child in the program?  Students that have been identified as being one or two years behind in grade level, according to their school records, are placed in the program.  The program accelerates grade level curriculum throughout the course, allowing the student to meet state requirements for being promoted.

Does my child have homework?  Students can access the program through any internet connection and work on assignments at home.  We encourage students to work in the program at every opportunity, due to amount of assignments needed to complete the courses. The students can use their Chromebooks to do lessons using any Wi Fi connection. COX cable offers reduced prices for every Warrington Middle student.

Can I check my child’s progress?  ALS monitors the student’s grades through their program.  Parents can access the grades as follows:

· Go to:   www.escambia.k12.fl.us

· Click on Students at the top

· Scroll down to: Anywhere Learning System (A+LS)

  Click on Browser Playback

· Student Log in:First letter of student name and last name

                          (example: John Doe is jdoe)

· Password:  student number

· After signing in you can check student progress

Who can I contact if I have more questions?   Call the school and ask for Mr. Thomas (Asst. Principal and coordinator), Mr. Farmer or Mrs. Cobb.

You may also contact through e-mail wcobb@escambia.k12.fl.us, or cfarmer@escambia.k12.fl.us.

What if my child does not have internet access at home?  Tutoring is available in the mornings from 8:30-9:00 with team teachers.  In addition, internet access is available at all local libraries, community centers and many local churches.

What does Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4 mean in the lessons? The Q1 stands for Quarter One and all quarters need to be completed with a passing grade of 70% to promote your child.  Your child should have all four Quarters of the 6th or 7th grade curriculum completed by the December holiday break.

The JAG team teachers send home weekly progress reports with your child to keep you informed. Please sign and return each week.
